October comes to an end…
It seems like October was so busy!
This past Friday, we decided to carve pumpkins, in the Halloween tradition. We invited Aunt Sarah and Uncle Eric over, ate dinner together, and got down to business. Lidia seemed to have lots of fun trying to help us scoop out pumpkin guts. She also enjoyed the finished products. She kept commenting, “Hot!” when she saw the candles lit inside.
Saturday and Sunday were uneventful. We were going to go to the zoo to trick or treat, but it ended up raining, so we changed our minds.
Monday, however, was great fun. Lidia absolutely adored trick or treating! I’m not sure which she liked best: knocking on doors, receiving treats, or socializing!
We went with Caleb and his family, and he also seemed to have a great time. Unfortunately, the camera battery died after 2 pictures so that is all I have from that night. :( Hopefully I can get some more from Caleb’s mom. All in all, it was a great 1st Halloween for Lids. She isn’t quite sure why we are being so stingey with those pretty little treats though. She’d much rather eat them all at once… this one every day or 2 is the pits.
Beyond that, we are limping through the end of daylights saving time. This has been a pain because Lidia’s body clock is now completely out of wack. She bounces back and forth between waking at 5 and waking at 7:30 now. Previously, she woke up at 7 every single day (like she had an alarm or something). The problem is, this is causing her to lose an hour or more sleep every day–which leads to a very cranky child in the morning. We are highly considering room darkening shades. This 5am stuff is not cool. Whose big idea was this, anyway??
