The longest trimester…

Logically, 12 weeks really doesn’t seem all that long. Hell, in actuality, it’s only 10 weeks because 2 weeks are added where you technically aren’t even pregnant. Today I am 5 weeks, 4 days along. Not even half way through the first trimester! Why the rush, you wonder? Only a million things can go wrong in the first trimester. With all this waiting, really, you just sit around and worry.

The OB won’t really see us until 8 weeks (although we do have an early ultrasound scheduled to check things out in there), it’s early enough that there aren’t a lot of symptoms and moving day by day is excrutiatingly slow. Seriously, I need to find something to occupy my mind for the next 6 weeks! Yikes! That is easier said, than done, however, because no matter what I am doing this is at the forefront of my mind. What do you expect? After waiting so long for this, it is hard not to obsess!

Other than the mental worries, however, I am doing quite well. I get extremely tired here and there and last night went to bed even before Lidia! I can still set my watch to my hunger-the 3 hour thing (Oh and at 9:30 pm I get hungry, too). My belly is already firming up, which I’m surprised by–it’s so early! I already have jeans I can’t stand to wear because they are too tight on my belly–and other jeans I can’t sit down in if the button is done. Really makes me wonder why the ol’ uterus is getting so big so fast. Maybe I’m just one who’s going to pop out quickly? Time will tell, I guess.
