20 Week Appointment

We went to our 20 week check at the “doctor baby mama,” as Lidia calls it. Things went well. Looks like I gained 15 lbs in the last month!!! Go me! That  is scary from a number stand point, but even though mentally I hate to gain all that weight, logically I know I *need* to to support these twins. So, thus far, I’ve gained 25 lbs and am well on my way to the twin weight gain goal (40 lbs). The doctor seemed excited when she said “This is the first time you’ve gained a significant amount of weight!”

Otherwise, she fished around for heartbeats as best she could (they are wiggly guys) and got one in the 160’s and one in the 150’s, so that is doing well. My uterus is measuraing at 26 weeks (average for a 20 wk twin pregnancy is about 28 weeks) so I am doing just fine, said doc.

There really isn’t much else to the appointment. I mentioned all the pelvic bone pains I’m having and she said, unfortunately that is pretty normal. I knew that it was, but I always like to mention those things. That has really been my only real complaint since we took care of the heartburn and morning sickness.

So, summary, everything is going good. Next appointment and ultrasound is August 30th.

Hooray!
