Okay, So I’ve Been a Bit Busy…

It really is an unfortunate thing that mothers who are given extra babies are not given extra arms. Really. I am constantly involved in the act of what I call “Baby Juggling.”

It begins like this. Everyone is calm, kicking little legs, waving little arms, practicing their “goos”–doing what babies do. Suddenly, Gavin starts his little annoyed grunt which is quickly developing into an insistent demand to be held. So, of course, Mom picks him up. After a couple minutes, he is settled and happy again—just in time for Liam’s little squeals to begin. Gavin is then deposited into the baby spot of choice (blanket on the floor, saucer, bouncy seat, etc…) and I scoop Liam up. In a few minutes, Liam is also happy as can be. Crisis averted? I think not. Upon realizing that Liam is now happy, Gavin starts in again and the cycle repeats itself until someone gets hungry or falls asleep. Needless to say, baby juggling is much easier with 2 parents instead of one.

Baby Juggling aside, things are going quite well at our house. Liam was sleeping through the night (or at least until 5 or 7am) for a while, but the past 3 nights he has gotten up around 3 or 4 to eat. Gavin is also up usually once per night before 6 or 7. Not too bad. I don’t have a problem getting up once a night for each of them. I am truly getting much more sleep than I was (when I manage to go to bed at a decent time). The boys will have their 4 month check-up next week! I will update, then.

For now, I figure I better post some pictures before the natives get restless.

Here is a picture of our little fish. She really does think she can swim now.
