meme
Okay okay okay, so Suzanne has pointed out (and rightly so) that I’m not blogging nearly enough. Therefore, she has “tagged” me in a little blog game called the “meme.” Here are the rules of this particular meme:
Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
Seems simple enough…
I’m not nearly as interesting as Suzanne, but here goes, anyway.
1. I have a thing for cows…

I am not exactly sure why. I have always thought cows were cute, but the “thing” didn’t start until after I met Adam.
His first gift to me was this adoreable little cow figurine.

My kitchen is crawling with cow things. Perhaps they remind me of my hunny and his first physical gift of love. <3
2. I’m a bit of a Star Wars geek…
This really started when I was young. My dad taped the Star Wars movies off the TV with the VCR and, let’s just say, it’s amazing the tapes didn’t wear out. Post marriage my Star Wars Universe was expanded when the hubby introduced me to the Star Wars novel series! Of course, I’m hooked now and know way more than the average gal about what’s happening in the Star Wars story line… and I love every minute of it!
3. I met my hubby on the internet…
Yes, I’m one of those weirdos who found love in the form of 0’s and 1’s. It all started innocently enough, both of us wound up in the same chat room long ago. Neither of us were looking for love, just passing some time. We struck up a conversation and the rest is history. My family must have thought I was insane when I finally met him for the first time (don’t worry, I did so in a safe way!). But now, I’m sure they laugh that they were even worried. It was fate. He is my soul mate.
5. This one’s slightly embarassing…
When we were in Russia, on trip 1, I blew a fuse in our room at the hotel. I was using my hair dryer, with a power converter that was supposed to work for it. I’m not sure why it happened, but it did. There was a loud POP and then the electric on one half of the room was not functioning. I was too embarassed and too scared to try to report it to the front desk (I didn’t want to have to worry about trying to be understood–I was already close to an anxiety attack, as this was my first time EVER in a foreign country) so we did nothing. We figured, we were only staying for one night. Perhaps the next tenant reported it… or maybe the maid who tried to vacuum.
6. As if the Star Wars thing didn’t make me geeky enough…
I also love MMORPG’s. “What’s that?” you ask. Massive Multi-player Online Role Playing Game. Think Dungeons and Dragons, only in live action. You go out into a computer game world and fight dragons and monsters with other people who are also playing the game from their home computers. It’s like playing a video game, only there are other people who are playing with you. This is actually one of those things hubby and I do together when we want to veg after the kids go to bed. In the past we’ve played Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, Guild Wars, and now we play Everquest II. This is one of those things I don’t usually bother telling people, because most of them just don’t get it. I’m such a girl geek…
7. I am a slob, by nature…
I’m not exactly proud of this and I don’t necessarily want to be like this, but I am wired this way. I will go through OCD freak outs, though, where suddenly everything being messy is driving me insane. Though I am a slob, previous to kids, it was usually good enough in the house. It might get messy for a couple of days, and then we’d whip it back up. Now that there are 2 infants and a preschooler in the picture, I sometimes feel that I will never again have a clean home. There are literally 2 hours in the day that I am not running around taking care of 3 children. I am so not motivated to clean in that 2 hours. I’m so exhausted by that point. This is, deep down, embarassing for me, but at the same time I hold faith that it will get better as the babes need me less. (or at least when they are all in school)
8. I have digital OCD…
This is a phrase I coined to describe my strange need to have all of my digital things organized. This extends to my text documents, digital photos, icons on my desktop, e-mail, etc… They must all be neatly organized in subfolder upon subfolder and easy for me to find. It will drive me crazy if things are not in this state. I find it odd that this is the only part of my life that I am so anal about organizing (and keeping that way).
Ok, that’s my 8 things. I am just going to go ahead and post this now as I haven’t thought of 8 people I can tag. I am not sure I have 8 people, but I’ll think on it.
