Wow, 6 Months?

So we barely survived the week and a half without the Dad and now things are back to some semblance of normal again. I was getting a bit tired from my lack of night time sleep. Our sleeping habits, however, have not improved. The Princess sleeps wonderfully and I am happy to say, it has been eons since she called us at night to go to the bathroom. She just gets up to go herself every time now. (Yay!) The Teeny Twosome, however, is not so ready to let Mom sleep. Though they only eat once during the night now, they wake far more than once. In my night time delirium, I probably couldn’t even tell you exactly how many times I am up at night. They boys have this knack of waking at completely opposite times. The result is, just as I fall asleep from having settled the first one back down–the next one wakes up. I am not sure what happened to make them start waking up SO much during the night. They used to only wake once or twice. More often than not, I am seeing every hour on the clock now. It usually just takes a minute of shooshing and perhaps a plug and they are settled back to sleep again. Though I always go if they are really crying, I often try to let them fuss some of it out so long as they aren’t too upset. This, however, sometimes means BOTH babies end up awake instead of one, and well that’s never a good thing. Next, their favorite thing is to never quite settle back down after 4 or 5am. Bah, who needs sleep anyway.

On the growth front, the boys had their 6 month baby check up (June 4) and here are their stats:

Gavin is now 16lb 14oz (in the 30th percentile). He is 26 1/4 inches tall (30th percentile).

Liam is 17lb 13oz (50th percentile) and 27 1/2inches tall (75th percentile!). Seems little Liam is pretty tall now, compared to his peers.

Both boys are doing just fine. They seem to be taking their baby food well. No allergies, thus far. They can be a bit picky, though. Neither of them are overly thrilled with fruits, especially Liam. Liam is more hesitant with the foods. Gavin LOVES food times. He growls and talks through the whole meal and gets really excited when he sees the spoon.

Otherwise, we’ve been keeping busy, enjoying the early signs of summer, doing some geocacheing and going here and there. We were in Rapids to visit the up nort’ family last weekend, and attend some family functions. Next weekend we will go to Michigan and visit the family on the other side of the lake.

I’ll try to post some new pics today, and perhaps a new album or 2 in the gallery.
